Union Carbide Re-position
danbury, connecticut

CURIOUS PROJECTS was engaged to guide the strategic planning, overall creative and architectural direction of the project, and to oversee the execution and implementation of the amenities program for the re-position of the 1980's Union Carbide Headquarters into a vibrant mixed-use environment with office, residential, restaurants, and amenities for building tenants and the surrounding community.
the building was originally designed by Kevin Roche and John Dinkeldoo and was purpose built on property in excess of 100 acres as the new world headquarters for the Union Carbide chemical company in danbury, connecticut. Union Carbide's occupation of the building was short lived. Since then, the property has traded hands several times with each successive hand-off pushing the property further away from original purpose.
